Features & Compatibility
Start with the ESP8266 toolchain and USB steps. Connector/PCB variants require their own pin, regulator and A0 checks.
Technical setup notes
- ESP8266 D1 mini family with Type-C or Micro USB options. USB connector choice alone does not identify the PCB revision or its regulator/ADC divider.
- Use a known USB 5 V supply for the first test. GPIO is 3.3 V logic; do not apply 5 V to GPIO or infer a 24 V VIN rating.
- Install the ESP8266 Arduino core even if the ESP32 core is already installed. Use a board profile and pin mapping appropriate to the supplied ESP8266 board.
1. Based on ESP8266
2. Arduino compatible, programming with Arduino B IDE
3. 11 * I/0 pin
4. 1 analog input; the allowed board-pin voltage depends on the fitted ADC divider and PCB revision.
5. Support OTA online
6. Use a suitable USB 5 V supply for the initial test; a higher-voltage VIN rating has not been established for these board variants.

GPIO operates at 3.3 V logic; do not apply 5 V signals to the GPIO.
Except for D0, all I0s support interrupts, PWM, I2C, and 1-wire. The ESP8266 core must be installed separately from the ESP32 core. Select a D1 mini-compatible profile only after checking the actual PCB and upload configuration.
